Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Home » Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
Laser Sintering works with powdered materials like nylon with different physical properties. The laser beam is passed over the powdered surface and it sinters the powder particles to form a solid. When each layer is completed the build platform moves downwards and the blade recoats the surface and the whole process repeats again. During the entire process, the build chamber is sealed and maintained at a particular temperature depending on the melting point of the powder. This method does not require additional support features as the powder platform itself provides the necessary support. Hence this method can be used for making objects with complex geometries, moving parts and interlocking parts.

Frequently Asked Questions

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) is a 3D printing technology that uses a high-powered laser to selectively melt and fuse powdered materials, such as nylon, into a 3D object layer by layer.
Yes, we offer post-processing services such as sanding, painting, and assembly.
SLA uses polymers and resins rather than metals. SLS can work with a variety of polymers, including nylon and polystyrene, as well as metals such as steel, titanium, and others.
A high-powered laser is used in Selective Laser Sintering technology to continually fuse the powdered form of the required material.
