Stereolithography (SLA)

The photopolymer resins interact with the laser to form a precise solid surface. The laser beam is directed in the X-Y axis on the surface of the resin according to the 3D data (.stl file). The resin solidifies in the areas hit by the laser. Once each layer is completed there is a fraction of drop in the platform within the vat (Z-axis). This process will be repeated till the entire object is made and the platform can be raised out of vat for removal. The process involves cleaning and curing of the final products. Curing refers to the method of heating the part by passing intense light in an oven like structure to fully harden the resin. SLA process is mainly used to produce parts with smooth finish and which has detailing in it.

  • Photoshoot and Market testing prototypes.
  • Used in dental, jewelry, and art.
  • Investment casting patterns.
  • Products with complex geometries.
  • Low-volume prototype testing and master copies for vacuum casting.
